Adventure Camp @ Gopeng, Perak
In line with Springfield Secondary School’s Vision in developing responsibility, resilience and diligence in our Student leaders, this trip will provide a good platform for students to develop their teambuilding skills and character development. The trip included the following itineraries.
1. White-water rafting.
This program will enable the cadets to attain the NCC Adventure Badge and develop their coordination and team-builing skills. It will also enable the cadets to attain some level of water confidence in river rapids. In this program, students will be divided into groups of 4 or 6 to paddle one inflatable raft through the white water rivers in Sungai Kampar.
2. Caving / Adventure cum leadership based activities
Caving will provide the opportunity for cadets to learn and experience some geographical knowledge on some features of caves. They will also be able to be gracious and co-operative with their group members when going through the tight corners in the caves. After caving, there will be few leadership low elements courses for cadets to experience and apply their leadership skills.
3. Visit to Orang Asli Village
Cadets will also be able to gain knowledge and appreciate the cultural differences between the Orang Asli village and modern suburbs. In this visit, the students will be learning some useful survival skills that the Orang Asli has been using when they hunt food in the jungles.
4. Rock Climbing and Obstacle Course
In rock climbing section, cadets should be able learn to be diligent and resilience when going through the obstacles during the rock climbing session. Cadets will not only do rock climbing, but they will need to climb few obstacles to reach their intended destinations.
