JOURNEY TO THE EAST
HERITAGE SITES
On 12 November 2012, our Cadet Leaders embarked on a journey to 3 heritage sites in the eastern part of Singapore. They began their journey by walking from Tampines Junior College to the Changi Chapel Museum. They visited the museum and learnt valuable and interesting lessons about the life in Singapore and the military make up during the World War II. Unfortunately, photography is prohibited inside the museum
From the Changi Chapel Museum, they proceeded and walked towards the Johore Battery at Cosford Road. They saw the replica of the 15 inch gun which is able to hurl shells at battleships during the war.
From the Johore Battery, they proceeded to the Changi Beach where 66 Chinese male civilians were killed by Japanese hojo kempei firing squads at
the water's edge on this stretch of Changi Beach on 20 February, 1942.
